Environment:
Rural / Agricultural areas |
Location:
Rural. Limited number of buildings. Light traffic.
Land Use:
Predominantly agriculture and recreational.
Weather:
Sun. Rain. Snow. Mist. Generally dry.
Temperature:
- 4° to 95° F (- 20° to 35° C)
Types of Dust:
Plowing, harvesting, fertilizing, scrub burning
and other dust producing activities can result in high air borne
particulate concentrations. Wind blown dust during the plowing
season will introduce high concentrations of erosive dust. Also,
wind blown fertilizer dust may introduce possible corrosive
elements.
Dust Concentration:
0.02 - 10 mg/m3
0.01 - 4.5 gr/1000 ft3
Particle size (µm):
0.01 - 30
Potential damage to turbine:
Erosion.

Recommended Gas Turbine Inlet Air Filtration System
- INLET WEATHER HOOD.
Inlet velocity < 3.5 m/s for rain. 1.7 m/s for
snow
- INLET BIRD SCREEN
- ANTI-ICING. (option if climatic conditions warrant)
- SELF-CLEANING INERTIAL SEPARATOR. ( air exhaust fan may need
silencer)
- INLET AIR COOLING. (evaporative cooling, or chilled water coils, if
climatic conditions warrant)
NOTE: Some turbine manufacturers require that unfiltered air by-pass doors be provided for the air inlet system.
